The Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce

The Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce is organized to advance the general welfare and prosperity of the Georgetown County area, so that its citizens and its business community may prosper. All necessary means of promotion shall be provided and particular attention and emphasis shall be given to educational interests of the county with a stewardship interest in its heritage and natural environment.

The Global Awareness Project

The Global Awareness Project is an innovative nonprofit agency designed to showcase humanitarian, environmental and cultural activities in local communities and worldwide. The Global Awareness Project seeks to provide a stronger voice for these invaluable community service organizations through promotional and marketing support utilizing multi media art, photojournalism and documentary work. The Global Awareness Project accomplishes this through creative projects, art shows and global events designed to foster GAP's core values of community connection, awareness and education.

The Waccamaw RIVERKEEPER® Program is a partner, featured in the Global Awareness Project's 2009 What's Your Cultural Vision? calendar, and proud to be a part of GAP's 2010 "Synergy" Non-Profit Promotional Art Calendar alongside artist Sherry Kelley of Dragonfly Art and Photography.

Coastal Waccamaw Stormwater Education Consortium

The Coastal Waccamaw Stormwater Education Consortium works with local municipalities in Horry and Georgetown Counties in South Carolina to help them satisfy education and public engagement requirements mandated under federal stormwater regulations.

The Waccamaw Riverkeeper participates as an education provider, making presentations, conducting training, and engaging citizens in protection of our watershed.

CoastMatters

CoastMatters is dedicated to supporting local conservation efforts by promoting conservation education and mobilizing citizens engaged in local policy decisions that affect our way of life.

The Waccamaw Riverkeeper serves on the Steering Committee for both Horry and Georgetown Counties.

Sierra Club

The Sierra Club's mission statement is: 1. Explore, enjoy and protect the wild places of the earth; 2. Practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources; 3. Educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and 4. Use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.

Wildlife Action

Wildlife Action is a private, non-profit grass roots organization whose mission is promoting public awareness about wildlife habitat, conservation, preservation and restoration of our natural resources, educating all people on stewardship of the good earth, and promoting responsible sportsmanship and ethics as exercised in the right to bear arms.

The Waccamaw Riverkeeper serves on the Board of Directors for the Carolina Forest Chapter of Wildlife Action.

Cape Fear Arch Conservation Collaboration

The Cape Fear Arch Conservation Collaboration is a nonprofit partnership of organizations and individuals created in 2006 to realize a vision for the Cape Fear Arch region where man’s and nature’s needs are properly balanced. Our mission is to develop and implement a community conservation vision to build awareness, protection and stewardship of the region’s important resources.

The Waccamaw Riverkeeper is a partner, working to promote a collaborative voice for nature.

Horry County P.R.I.D.E.

Horry County PRIDE is a proactive taxpayers’ political advocacy movement on behalf of the County’s infrastructure and natural resources. Its mission is to to create the PUBLIC and POLITICAL WILL to find innovative, effective solutions to the development, infrastructure and natural resource issues created by rapid growth.

League of Women Voters

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

South Carolina Environmental Law Project

The South Carolina Environmental Law Project (SCELP) is a non-profit public interest law firm, dedicated to protection of the South Carolina environment. SCELP's goal is to protect South Carolina's natural resources and environment through forceful legal advocacy. SCELP provides concerned citizens and environmental groups the services of an attorney with broad experience in environmental law.
