I'm writing on behalf of the Winyah Rivers Foundation and the River Celebration Committee to thank the community and our sponsors for supporting The River Celebration, our annual fundraiser held in Conway on January 14th at The Warehouse on Laurel Street.
Firstly, thank you to Johnny, Luke and Dennis from the Warehouse for hosting and providing much delicious food, Jon Leithiser and his uniquely tasty pine sap potatoes, Captain Jim Holbert for donating rides up Kingston Lake on his electric boat, Luke, Christa and Fisher Wilson for the uplifting toe-tapping music, our sponsors Shine Cafe, the most generous and humble Anonymous, Dr. James Vaught at Vaught Eyecare Center, Dr. Randy and Beth Werkhoven at Waccamaw Regional Veterinary Center, Bob and Mary Moore, Mary Kendall Bittle at State Farm Insurance, Ron Geris at Autoworld, Martha Smith and Tony Zack at Mr. Sparky.
The Sands Resort vacation package and original painting of the Conway Main Street Bridge by Molly Fout were popular silent auction items.
Also, I'd like to publicly thank Tiffany Hamilton at Hers and His Hair Salon, Cindy and Darren Smith of Rivertown Bistro and Bonfire restaurants, Ashley Yeager of Essential Massage, Captain Conyers of Aces Up Fishing Charters, Sheila and Brian O'Neil of Boozie and B3C auto additives and all the River Celebration Committee members for donating items and putting together the delightful baskets for our raffle.
Most of all I'm truly thankful to the Staff at Winyah Rivers Foundation and volunteers who work tirelessly and with great dedication to keep the rivers and watershed clean for drinking, swimming and fishing.
Please join us for barbecue and oysters at our next event, Hobnob at Hobcaw on March 3rd, 3-8 pm, for another chance to support Winyah Rivers, Horry & Georgetown county's own clean waterways powerhouse! Details at WinyahRivers.org.
With great thanksgiving to our supportive community,
River Celebration Committee
